July, 1999 – July marked the formation of a citizen coalition to push for action from the WDNR and other government agencies to help scrub the Lower Fox River from Waukesha, WI to Waterford, WI, including beautiful Tichigan Lake, or decades of neglect.
This neglect has allowed a thick, foul-smelling muck to fill in much of the useful riverway and has reduced the clarity and depth in the lake. Many areas of open water once relished by anglers and recreational boaters now grows thickets of cattails that are impervious to boat or human!
